I’ve hosted my fair share of Facebook parties- so many, that I consider myself somewhat of a pro! I mean, I DO do this for a living;) Here are my quick tips for having THE BEST Facebook party!
- Keep your guest list personal and short
“The more, the merrier,” does NOT apply to Facebook parties. You wouldn’t drive someone to a house and lead them inside without first letting them know that they’re going to a party, and the same courtesy should apply to virtual parties. Guest want to feel important and like they were personally invited. If I get an invite to a Facebook party, and I don't know the hostess very well at all, I decline. You MUST ask your guest before adding them!
NOTHING SAYS “SPAM ALERT” LIKE A GUEST LIST OF 250+!
VIP HOSTESS TIP: Think of 5 people from each areas of your life and ask them. Family, best friends, co-workers, church friends/family, etc.
2. Make it personal.
Each guest should get a personal message from you, the hostess. Think about how many Facebook notifications you get each day. Probably a lot, right? Some notifications get lost and forgotten. Don't let your friends get lost in the shuffle!
A personal message goes a long way in getting those RSVPs to your party.
And when you send a message, include the group link so you can make it easy for your peeps to join. It makes your guest feel special and excited! If you don't send a personal message, it's very unlikely they're going to participate, let alone shop.
VIP HOSTESS TIP: ask me for sample verbiage you can send. I’ll send you some. Then tweak it a bit to sound like you!
3. Get non-Facebook friends involved
Know some guest who would LOVE the product, but they aren't on your Facebook? Invite them over and show them your catalog, send them an email with your shopping link or shoot them a quick text! Grandmas, aunts, cousins and co-workers are great gals to think about for this step!
VIP HOSTESS TIP: collect $200 in outside orders before your party even starts! THIS will change your party and rewards extremely!
4. INTERACT WITH YOUR FACEBOOK FRIENDS
Okay, here's the bottom line. I do not know your guests. YOU DO! When I post a picture, or ask a question, comment on it to show your guests how to interact.
You are the most important guest at your Facebook party!
Online parties are successful because the hostess connects with each of her guests, follows up on orders, and spreads excitement to all her friends. Think of you and me as business partners! I've got the products, you've got the connection to peeps! You've got this!
VIP HOSTESS TIP: Each day, when you settle down, check in on your party to see if there was anything you missed!
