The Best 3 Tips for Working at Home

Sometimes, I feel like I'm not qualified enough to talk about tips from working from home. Sometimes, I sleep until noon. Sometimes I sit on the couch, get way to comfortable in puppy snuggles and binge watch Netflix all day. (But if I'm being honest... I think that's to be expected with a work at home life, right?! Totally a perk😉)

Other times, like tonight, I have an extraordinary online party, my team is rocking it and I'm feeling on top of everything and confident as ever. I am TOTEally rocking this work at home life! So I have to share the secrets that aren't secrets at all! Being your own boss is a million times better than you can ever imagine, and with these tips, it will be easier too!

3. Stick to a schedule. I'm sure you've heard it before, but waking up at the same time everyday is crucial. I don't care that I don't get up at 7am (like I wish I would🤣) but waking up at 9am when my alarm goes off every morning starts my day off strong. I know once I get up, I'll go downstairs, let Bella Gene out of her kennel, start coffee and sit down and check FB and emails. Once I've finished my coffee I get ready for the day and chat with some friends and team members. After that, I go let the chickens out to roam and head back in to work in my office for a couple hours. I know that at 4pm every day I will stop working to straighten up the house before Tim gets home and start dinner (if it's something I can make...... y'all know I can't cook right?🤦)  My schedule isn't always "at this time I will ______," but I have a good routine going that works.

2. Don't stop working to do chores. I hear people that work from home always talk about how they can fold laundry and work at the same time, so this opinion may not be popular, but you should try it out. You will quickly see the difference it makes in your business. If I worked so many hours outside of the home, I wouldn't be expected to keep the house spotless. Tim doesn't stop work every half hour to come home and do a chore. Why should I have to? Because I'm home?? Nah girlfriend. Doesn't work that way. Work hours are for work. Stay focused and see how much more you get done and THEN you can knock out chores.
TRUE STORY: On several occasions people have made comments to me like, "Well, you're home all day... why wouldn't you do the dishes?" or "You sit home all day. Why wouldn't you have dinner ready?" Well, Barbara... that's because I haven't "just been sitting" at home all day. I have been working my amazing business:D If you are reading this and work from home and have house wife guilt, stop it!!! Your dedication to your work, to your business, is just as important as anyone working outside of the home and is definitely more important than dishes!

1. Get an accountability partner. Or group. Find someone that will call you out when you need it and celebrate you when you deserve it! The first time I tried working from home, I was alone. I had no one to tell me what to do if I needed some pep. All my friends worked the typical 9-5 and would get fired if they didn't go to work, but me? Nope! I was fine hitting snooze 500 times!
Having an accountability partner that works from home will also help you from getting lonely. I'm online almost all day chatting with women, but there's still something about meeting up with someone for lunch or video chatting them that makes me feel like I got my social interaction in for the day! Trust me, find you some people that understand and get to know them good. Those people will be your people and you will love each other so good that accountability will start to come naturally because you want whats best for each other.

E X T R A  T I P: It should go without saying, but I will say it anyway, because maybe you need to hear it. If you are in direct sales or own your own small business... Do not let anyone take away your vision. You keep working, stay consistent and prove any naysayer wrong. Your business matters chick! It really really does!
